Enrique Iglesias recovers from a concert drone mishap

Latin heartthrob and singer, Enrique Iglesias was recovering from a drone accident in his concert last May 30, Saturday night at Plaza de Toros de Playas in Tijuana, Mexico.

A drone is usually used in concerts like this to capture crowd shots and give the audience a ‘Point of View’ shot. But when the 40-year old and multi-awarded artist, Iglesias, attempted to grab the camera-carrying drone, two of his fingers were sliced. "Something went wrong and he had an accident," one of his representatives posted on Instagram.

The show must go on
Though he was advised to end the show, he just went to the side of the stage where he was given an immediate remedy to try and stop the bleeding.

According to Joe Bonilla, Iglesias’ press agent, he still decided to perform for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the show. Photos went viral on social media where he was still seen performing onstage even if his left hand was already tied up.

“He was rushed to the airport where an ambulance met him there. He was then put on a plane to L.A. to see a specialist,” his publicist affirmed in his statement.

His decision to continue performing despite the bleeding made the 12,000 concertgoers applaud him more. Many of the pop star’s fans shared their admiration to Iglesias on social media where they posted photos of him, performing with blood all over his white T-shirt. For them, the Spanish singer’s professionalism is really commendable.

Enrique Iglesias and his team also expressed their appreciation and gratitude to his fans for their untiring support, wishes, and prayers.

He recently got 19 nominations and nine awards in 2015 Billboard Latin Music Awards. According to his website, his next show is set in July in Mexico City, still part of Iglesias’ Sex and Love World Tour.
