My Prayer on my 30th Birthday - Blessed to be a Blessing

A Very Beautiful Prayer on My Birthday

On December 13, Sunday at exactly 12 midnight (Manila Time), I

whispered this very special and beautiful prayer from my heart.

Dear Lord,
I thank You for giving me another year of life, happiness, serenity and good health. I thank You for all the people who have remembered me today, for all the countless blessings you have given me all year round, the achievements, experiences, successes, memories, opportunities and strengths.

I sincerely thank You for the sunshine, for the laughter, and for the gifts of family and friends that remind me of Your loving presence everyday.

Our Family in Anawangin Islands
I thank You, my dear Savior for all those tests of faith, sorrow and pain that made me stronger and drove me closer to You – trusting You more, holding unto You at all times. These have made us realize how blessed we are and reminded us to always be trusting, grateful and hopeful.

I thank you for another year that has passed and another year blessed with Your kindness and love. Thank You too for touching my life and let me experience Your goodness everyday. The gift of love and life that I receive from You is the greatest blessing that I would be always grateful for.

Forgive me for the times that I sinned against You and Your will and for the times of failure which indeed reminded me of my own weaknesses and of my strong need for you.

Help me to start this special day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day; to still my mind so that I can hear from You. Lord, help me broaden my mind and faith that I can accept all things You have planned for me.

Bless me with Your wisdom and knowledge that I can share for Your glory. Let me not whine and whimper over things; please keep me safe, secured and pampered as always.

Our happy family in our Davao escapades - Samal Island
Be with me Lord to give the best response when I’m pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can’t pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will and continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me uplifted and inspired that I may have words of encouragement for others.

Lord, I also thank you for your wonderful gifts, my husband, Rainier, our little prince, Eieo and our families, loved ones and friends. Bless us greatly with Your love, divine wisdom and discernment. Keep us committed and bonded with Your great love; We love because You first loved us. Bless also our loving families that Your grace and love may pour forth and overflow on them. Let our families be a testament of Your goodness and blessings.

With all that I am, and with all that I have ...
I offer my everything, my life to You, my God.
This I ask through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.  Amen.

Overflowing of GOD's Blessings - I am Always Grateful and Thankful

Blessings Overload: Happy Marriage, Great Family, Stable Career

I set aside my career for almost five months now and I don't have any regrets of doing so. While I enjoy my quality time with hubby and Eieo, our little bundle of joy and source of pride and inspiration, I am thankful to God to receive calls from companies and interview invitations. These companies on various industries were able to extend their impressions on my credentials, skills, and experiences (and yes, I am so thankful and happy about it!).  Job offers seem to come to our doorsteps - showering us with great compensation packages, benefits and incentives.

Oh LORD, please help us decide on this. As always, Papa GOD, Ikaw na po ang bahala...

Right now, hubby and I are both praying for what is really best for me and our family. We know HE knows best and so we trust Him so much that THY will be done - saving the best for us.

Payback Time
God has always been so good to us and our families. We pass the good deeds on and see to it that we share our blessings in our own little ways - help others and make them feel blessed, special and happy. Whenever we make someone smile or cheer him/her up, it simply gives us the joy and the fulfillment we could hardly explain - that feeling of keeping you feel light and making you wear smile all day long.

Sharing Our Tons of Blessings
Yes, it doesn't take big amounts of money to help others and share what you have. You may wish to extend a helping a hand and join us as we continue to help an orphanage. Let us organize an outreach program and make these kids and other people so happy.  Let us celebrate life this way as we touch another person's life and be an inspiration and an ultimate blessing to everyone.  :-)

Help the orphans today as you also make them smile, feel happy and blessed.  This is under the initiative, supervision and care of Rev. Fr. Rogelio (Roger) Cruz, a “Bahay Ampunan” in Area H, Phase II, Brgy. San Rafael, San Jose del Monte, Sapang Palay, Bulacan.

Let me know... Thanks 0915-871-8721

To GOD be the GLORY!

GOD bless us all.   :-)

Cheers to good health, long life, happiness and prosperity!

xoxo,

Mommy Mai

On My Special Day

I always think that I'm unworthy,
I sin, I lie, I commit mistakes and I sometimes fail to do well.
I frequently forget my Christian duties.
Yet, for unknown reasons, God always lets me feel that I'm being blessed.
I am loved, forgiven and being taken cared of.

I never asked for too much...
I beg for His guidance to make me a good family man.
I beg for His continuous care and mercy.
I beg for wealth that I may be a channel of charity.
I beg for His blessings to the Church, which He had instituted.
The Church where I gain wisdom and directions.
Above all,
I beg that I may not lose my faith in Him.

With all sincerity, I thank God.
I have a loving wife, Mai, and an adorable child, Eieo.
I have a family that I know I can always lean on.
I have a great circle of friends.
I have my mentors.
I have enough skills and knowledge to live and let others live.
I have the capacity to overcome trials and heartaches.
All of these, I have, because of His grace.

I do not know how to pay Him back,
For my life wouldn't be enough to get even with His love.
I am definitely happy and contented living a life like this.
For I know His caring hands will always suffice.

My 32nd Year of Existence

It’s my 32nd birthday and I felt thankful, overjoyed and humbled…

This day I opted to celebrate my existence with my loving wife, Myraine, and my adorable son, Eieo, by doing what I always want it… Unplanned.

First, we went to Malolos Cathedral - Basilica Minore dela Nuestra SeƱora de Inmaculada Concepcion (in Spanish) or Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception (in English) to give thanks and praise to my loyal and ever loving friend, companion and creator. Afterwards, we had a simple breakfast and bought some extra to share with other kids out there as we drive our way home. Next, I attended and sung in the burial mass of my brother knight. Then, we took Lola Mila out for dinner and also shared food to some children we saw outside the grill house. Finally, we got back home!

So simple yet so heart-warming… I have done all the things that make me happy – Be with my family, spend some time at the church, share a little with those people I don’t even know, sing and serve at the Holy Mass, drive, and eat.

Actually, I have so much to be thankful this past year. Aside from those material blessings, I owe God my health, wisdom and peace of mind. Myraine, has always been so understanding and caring. Our little boy is growing up smart, healthy and good-looking like his father… Hmmmm… We still have stable jobs and a small enterprise. I am still alive!

With all sincerity, I would like to ask forgiveness to those I offended this year. Thanks to all who have been a part of my life; those who made me realize my worth as a person; those who made me laugh; those who shared their thoughts; those who planted me with wisdom and let me grow spiritually; those who boosted my self-confidence; and those who continued to love my family. You are all indeed great!

Now, I humbly pray for God’s continuous guidance and care. May He always protect my family from harm and sickness. May He maintain harmony and love in my household. May He also bless my friends and colleagues. May He provide me the list of the winning numbers for the next lotto draw. :)

Thanks for the greetings!

Jesus above all!!!

Our Dear Travel Buddies - Spongy and Uno

My Family’s Suitcase is Now Officially ON...

Everything is set – our family suitcase, our everyday essentials, our traveling needs, and a lot more. And yes, we are so ready to go.

Traveling is our therapy, our passion and our ultimate addiction. It gives us the satisfaction only it can. Even without spending much, we can maximize our time and resources to enjoy the quality time we have during our family adventures.

We’ve just bought our very first car, a light blue pearl mini SUV, Suzuki Escudo (SideKick – Sports Edition) and named it UNO. Please see our pictures with our Uno and see how happy we were, especially our Unico Hijo, Eieo. Now, we can stroll and travel elsewhere, anywhere and anytime.

More importantly, Uno would be of great help to us as we pursue our little ventures in our growing business. And together, we earn, share and enjoy life to the fullest – passing the good deeds and the wonderful blessings unto others.

In my old posts, you’d learn that in year 2009, we experienced a series of traumatic incidents – fire, Ondoy (typhoon), floods, and a loss of a loved one. Indeed, all these things happened on the same year – taking everything away from us, leaving us with nothing but our love for one another and of course, our Faith in HIM.

Despite those tests of faith, we managed to keep our faith stronger – holding each other’s hands towards a brighter and better tomorrow. Truly, I will forever believe in my THREE F’s: Faith, Family and Friends.

Now we are so overwhelmed that GOD has always been so good to us. He always makes us feel so blessed, loved and special. Sometimes hubby and I think that we are uncertain if we deserve all these good things that are coming along – surprisingly. What we have done to enjoy this kind of life – simple, meek yet so fulfilling… a life that most of us have been dreaming of.

Thanks be to GOD!

Once again, join me in my journey as my growing family takes some little steps and enjoys a very long yet so much fun drive, towards life’s bumpy roads.

Yes, I know that it will definitely be a fun and exciting drive along. Join us as we venture, discover and indulge every day’s blessings.

Beautiful places, here we come! Applause!

GOD Bless Every Home

Our tests of faith: the fire and the typhoon Ondoy incidents (May and October 2009 respectively).

Hubby and I have a very big clan and we love them all.

The Love of a Family is Life's Greatest Blessing! - Ondoy's 1st year. Still, we are thankful and grateful to HIM that we have THREE F's --->Family, Friends and Faith.

It has been a year and now I can certainly say that we have finally recovered - blessed, loved and inspired. These two traumatic incidents have taught us to be strong and to always hold on to each other and of course, to our Source of strength, life and inspiration, our dear Almighty Father. Our trust and faith just gets even better, stronger and mightier each day.

With all these good things and great blessings in life, we ought to make a pledge - not because we need to but because we love to. Yes, hubby and I are both planning to do "something" we think we'd surely love to. And this can perfectly make us happy, proud and fulfilled... we will find your place, Lani - as we both admire your strength and your parent's unconditional love. (we saw them last night on TV @ ABS-CBN, Failon Ngayon.) We will see you soon. GOD bless you always! :-)

New Home, New Hope

Yes, this is a blessing, a dream come true to hubby and me. Well, our house, a townhouse, a corner and end lot, isn’t too big – just enough for the three of us. This humble abode is perfect for a growing family who happens to be so in love with each other. Elegant, chic and minimalist, our home is indeed a labor of love and hard works.

So far, this is a living proof that we really survived the tests of faith and be able to cope with the situations as well as the consequences brought by the incidents – fire, flood and death.

I am certain that this home will be filled with love, laughter, understanding and harmony – a place where happiness, fairness, trust, respect and friendship reign at all times. Good memories will always be in the air and there will never be a room for regrets, insecurities and depressions.

It is indeed a new home, new hope for the three of us – Eieo, hubby and me.

We are to move to our new home this March. Hubby and I are so excited to start this new adventure.

We will always have HIM bless this home and always let HIM live with us.

God bless our new “home sweet home”.

Questions in Mind before I Got Married

Is he my Mr. Right? Is he worth fighting for? Would he love me the way I want him to? Would we be together for a lifetime? Is he the one GOD wants me to spend the rest of my life with? So many questions, so many worries and fears, so many what ifs…

These are some of the many questions I had in mind before I got engaged with my hubby. I used to believe that in marriage, it isn’t enough that you just love each other; it’s best if there would also be trust, understanding, respect and communication – by all means and at all times.

Before we planned the wedding, I had to find the answers to my questions. It took me three years before saying “yes” to engagement, three long years to look for (may be) some assurance and try to find for some good answers.

Well, thanked God I did. May be I failed to answer all of them but I was so glad I had one clear and definite answer: I know that Rainier is God’s precious gift to me. And that I need to nurture, cherish and celebrate for a lifetime. I’m gonna grow old with him and raise a family of our own together.

Now that we both have our precious and sweet little bundle of joy, our unico hijo, Eieo, we never worry for tomorrow. We always have faith and trust in the Lord. We enjoy whatever we have right now – believing that whatever we do and we have are all His will. Yes, we are thankful that we are blessed; and most of all, we are overwhelmed that we are celebrating life’s beauty, wonders and blessings together.

I Wish You'd Find Time to Read My Posts

I watched Kerygma TV this morning and got hit by the words of Brother Bo Sanchez.

Here’s a few of my realizations:

We are not called for the vow of poverty; we are called for the vow of generosity.

We are not called to be successful; we are called to be faithful.

We have to get rich and richer so we can be generous and more generous each day.

We need to clear our thoughts as these can be realities; our fears are not just feelings for these can greatly affect our reality.

We have to believe in great things so these can amazingly happen to us. Have faith in the things that we wish to happen so they materialize in our lives.

Live a fantastic life. Forget about our nightmares and fears; love and believe in our dreams instead.

Speak your clear mind, share your good thoughts and be heard!

Hearing these realizations makes me discern over a lot of things. As my hubby, Rainier, would always remind me: Doubts will only make our lives miserable. Let’s be happy and live happiness.

So, if you wish to live a longer, healthier and happier life, (just like me) engage in some “generous” activities to reach out to God and to others, watch Kerygma TV and be a part of the “family”

It pays to know that you are blessed and chosen by GOD to be a blessing to everyone. Yes, we are a blessing to mankind. So, let’s spread the Good News and celebrate God’s blessings today and tomorrow. Experience the joy of living life to the fullest!

Welcome 2010! Celebrate Life at Its Best

My family, my inspiration and my Life!

As always, my hubby and I together with our families, loved ones and fiends do live LIFE to the fullest as we also celebrate each blessing, experience and adventure at the fullest. Thanking OUR dearest Creator and Savior with all the graces and blessings we have had, we always try our best to be those “people” GOD designs US to be – making ourselves worthy of the Life HE unconditionally gives and entrusts to all of us.

We live, experience and celebrate life to the fullest. We count and share our blessings. We laugh, have fun and enjoy together. Therefore, we can always make it through. With God’s grace, mercy and Love, we will survive this bumpy and challenging road called Life.

On my personal Facebook account, I just posted and shouted out loud that I am truly blessed as I live a very happy and fulfilling life with my loving hubby, smart, sweet and cute little son, Eieo and the rest of our families, loved ones and friends.

Truly, Myraine Carluen – Policarpio simply loves what she has, sees, touches, feels and experiences right now.

May this year, 2010, be OUR year! Indeed. God bless everyone.

Ad majorem Dei gloriam!

Lucky to Marry My Best Friend...

I am thankful that GOD let me get married, experience to have a family of my own, and celebrate both womanhood and parenthood.

I am grateful that He made me fall in love with the same man over and over.

I am blessed I married my best friend.

I am glad I did, I do and I always will.

I am thankful, grateful, happy and blessed to have Rainier as my hubby.

May GOD bless us as we celebrate, enjoy and spend our marriage together as we oath to have this as our lifetime commitment.

We pledge and we pray.

In HIM, we trust.

Minimalism at Home…

Before the traumatic fire and flood incidents happened and took away the material things and resources that we have, hubby and I used to really buy things from different shopping centers - malls, bazaars, online shopping stores and the likes. We would certainly have these material things and resources in our shopping carts, whether we necessarily needed such or not.

But certainly not now, after those tests of faith, we have decided to practice minimalism: to only buy things that we basically need, life’s basics. Today, we only settle for the best, most reliable and quality appliances, furniture, utensils, house wares, and many more. However, we only settle for one of all kinds – one set of and for everything. We now put everything in place – exactly where they are expected to be seen – spacious, light, refreshing, relaxing, unique, innovative, creative, appropriate and beautiful... yet truly affordable.

Now, we’ve only got the right and best things that our home sweet home can only accommodate.

I love it more. I love each piece exactly where and how it is placed and designed to make our little bungalow a mansion, our dream house. Laughs and chills!

Minimalism is our style, our choice and our decision. Now, you can make yours. Enjoy!

The Best and My Favorite Post on This Blog

I would just like to repost hubby’s message for me days after giving birth to OUR Little Prince, our Unico Hijo, Eieo dated August 22 of last year, 2008.

He posted his message on my personal blog without my knowledge and permission – he did some intrusions on my blog (I perfectly love it though). When I checked my blog to make another post and to my surprise, I was overwhelmed and so kinikilig reading his words and message. Each word and every line had touched my heart and made me shed joyful tears - wasn't really expecting that.

I was so happy then because he seldom says I love you and expresses his feelings – he is not that expressive and showy. But, with this post, I know that I am still the woman he fell in love with almost ten years ago, someone to whom he spent his bachelor days with for five years and to whom he tied a knot almost three years ago. So, here it is… just want to share my happiness with you, my dear readers. Feel his love as much as I did. :-)

LOVING MY WIFE MORE…

It has been a week since our little prince was born…
And honestly, I admire how you managed the pains and long hours of labor just to give birth to our precious one.
I know how you sacrifice even your life and I’m so thankful that God saved you from such risk.
No wonder, pain and hard work really result to glory.

Now, I love you more!
Not only because you’ve given me a child but also because I firmly believe you’re worthy of it.
Certainly, this is not a commitment but I will try my best not to cause you further burden.

I love you better…
I vow to take care of you and our offspring as long as I live.
Let us always replenish our love, everyday; avoiding petty quarrels that make our relationship uneasy.
Let us just focus on how we can abide by our promise to love each other and care for our children.
For who knows, we still are partners, couples even after our lives on earth.

Hope you forgive me for my intrusion. - Daddy Rainier

For me, this is indeed the best post in this blog. I love you too, Dad! Likewise, Mommy Myraine

It is Eieo’s Birthday!

On the 14th day of August, this coming Friday, our child will turn One! My hubby and I are both excited to celebrate this one big special day for our very own little prince, Baby Eieo!

Lately we have been so busy doing these tasks: organizing this big event, preparing all the party needs and planning everything.

Take a peek to his sweet B-day party invitation.

Eieo learned to laugh and squeal, sit and stand.
Now, he can walk if you hold his hand.
But the fun has only just begun.
Look out world, Our Little Prince is turning ONE!

Leo Antonio Carluen Policarpio
1st Birthday and Our Family Thanksgiving Mass
August 14, 2009, Friday at 4p.m.
St. Francis of Assisi Parish

Come and celebrate with us. See you there after school!

Isn’t it cute, sweet and unique? Hubby and 1 really tried our very best to make it appear and sound so different, extra special and so personalized. We wanted all the best for our son, for Eieo.

Here is the list of our priorities before his big day:

Setting up a party theme: Ordering and buying Sesame Street Characters, stuffed toys (Elmo for Eieo).
Completing our guests’ lists.
Meeting with the events organizers, coordinators and caterers as well as the clowns, magicians, waiters, etc.
Purchasing all the necessary party needs, stuffs, decorations and accessories.
Venue, birthday cake, chocolate fountains, bubble machines, ice cream and food carts, party needs and souvenirs reservations.
Photo and video coverage.
Invitation lay-out, printing, packaging and distribution.
Party banners and tarpaulin lay-out and printing.
Birthday food taste test.

His Party Needs:

Party and loot bags, party hats, balloons with different shapes and sizes, pop-ups, prizes for games, assorted candies and lollipops, toys for all ages, stuffs for palayok, piƱata and pabitin, kiddie and adult sets of chairs and tables, including all the other catering services.

All these must be enjoyed by our 200 guests. Ren and I are keeping our fingers crossed that this will be a successful, fun-filled and exciting event.

We do hope that his first birthday celebration be next to perfection. GOD permits.

See you there!

Mommy Mai and Daddy Ren

Pictures were taken when he was only 11 (at the studio), 7 (in his high-tech walker), 6 (dad made him reach the ceilings of SM the block, one of his mall tours) and 4 (playing and hiding in the blankets) months.

I Want to Dance with My Lolo Leovy Again

I’ve never had a father. Thank GOD I have had my dear grandfather though. He raised, nurtured, loved and cared for me as if I were his own biological daughter… he is so loving, caring, thoughtful and giving. He gave me the appreciation, passion and affection that I need to be that someone GOD designs me to be. He made me feel loved and blessed; these things… only he could.

For more than 16 years ago before he met his Creator and went up to Heaven, he showed unconditional love and tender loving care not just to me but to most of the people he loved and cherished the most. I miss those days, those times and those years so much, my dearest granddad.

My dearest LOLO unbelievably makes us all laugh, feels relieved and happy, and let us experience the kind of life we all have dreamed of.

I miss him so much… each day that passes especially during the happiest and most rewarding moments of life as well as during those tough times and tests of faith. For I know that if he were only here with us, he’ll surely make us all feel a lot better.

If only I could meet and see you again, I’ll surely hug and kiss you. I won’t let that chance pass by without letting you know how much we love and miss you, how much we cared for you, how much gratitude and longing we have for you.

We pray that this truly happens… even in our dreams – mine, grandmom’s, mom’s as well as my aunt’s, uncle’s and fellow grandchildren. We’ll surely be so happy and fulfilled. Just one great hug, Lolo.

It is true that we lost your pictures, our photos of joyful moments with you and of great times together during the fire last May 7 of this year. Yet, forgetting your image and facial features would never happen for you are in our hearts then, now and forever.

We miss you so much, Lolo Leovy. How I wish my son meets you in person to smile at you, give you his big hug and throw you a loving kiss. But don’t you worry, Lolo, I’ll make sure he’ll know the best in you, the best granddad in the world.

If I could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him
I'd play a song that would never, ever end
How I'd love, love, love
To dance with my grandfather again…

If I could steal one final glance, one final step,
one final dance with him
I'd play a song that would never, ever end
'Cause I'd love, love, love
To dance with my grandfather again…

I miss you, Lolo. I pray that these words and acts of love would reach heaven. Hope you see and feel how dear you are to me, to us. We love you so much. Thanks for always being our dearest angel.

Thank You

Yes…

We have realized how blessed and loved we are…
We have appreciated life, family, friends and fellows more…
We have experienced serenity and joy despite of what had happened…

We have moved on…
We have surpassed this test of faith…
We have survived this trial…

All because of Him and You

To all of YOU who…

have extended a helping hand…
have shown extra care, concern and support in many ways…
have said and done encouraging words and actions…
have touched our hearts and changed our lives…
have made a difference to all of us…

A million thanks. No words can ever express how thankful and grateful we are; thus, we can only pledge and assure you that we will certainly pass the good deeds on.

Thank you and may HE always shower all his blessings to you and your family.

Working From Home with My Hubby

As my hubby and I have decided to spend more quality time with our little Baby Eieo, we continuously pursue home-based jobs and simply earn more from home. We never thought that this could be very rewarding, amazing and a lot fun. Earning from home just gives us enough time to be together without sacrificing anything particularly our regular income.

We just need to earn more and save more now that we already have a child to raise and nurture. As we are able to meet our goals, experience both financial freedom and stability, appreciate the convenience, achieve professional growth, and a lot more.

I never intend to say that this is better than the traditional way of working and earning for a living. What I just want to express is that we have personally proven that working and earning from home can be as good and as rewarding as office-based jobs.

Being a Tertiary English instructor, I am glad and proud to say that I have maintained my being on the top over the years. As I have consistently received such outstanding remark from the overall performance evaluation, I simply cannot leave teaching. It has been both my profession and passion for five years and I must admit that my heart is really into it. Indeed, I cannot say no to something that has been one of the greatest sources of my personal strength and inspiration.

Still, I teach every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Doing this truly cuts and breaks the monotony of staying at home 24/7. With all these blessings, I am indeed happy and fulfilled.
