Why I Teach Then, Today and Tomorrow...

The Show – Lenka Music Code

Old soldier never seems to die, he just fades away. If he dies with his boots on, I would die with a piece of chalk in my hand.

I was once a teacher; I am an inspired English professor and I will forever be a mentor to anyone.

I educate young minds; I inculcate values in them; I motivate and inspire them in many different ways I know.

Yes, I have already touched thousand lives, and firmly believed that I have left an impact on them - something they could bring with them when they face the real world, when they grow up, and when they pursue the career they have chosen and the life they decided to cherish. I have given them the chance to rediscover themselves and to explore this world - living a life with much love, faith, hope, optimism and perseverance.

This is my profession. This is my passion. And yes, this is one of my inspirations.

In teaching you cannot see the fruit of a day's work. It is invisible and remains so, maybe for twenty years. - Jacques Barzun

A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops. - Henry Brooks Adams

So, I challenge you to make your life like a masterpiece. I challenge you to join the ranks of those people who live what they teach, who walk their talk.

God bless everyone.

What is a Teacher?

A teacher's purpose is not to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image.

The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book.

A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others.

Teachers who inspire know that teaching is like cultivating a garden and those who would have nothing to do with thorns must never attempt to gather flowers.

Teachers touch hearts and change lives without lifting a finger. They simply inspire young minds – making them a better somebody someday.

Teachers who inspire realize there will always be rocks in the road ahead of us. They will be stumbling blocks or stepping stones; it all depends on how we use them.

To teach is to touch lives forever.

Teaching is the profession that teaches all the other professions.

Teaching should be full of ideas instead of stuffed with facts.

Well, if you can read this, thank your teachers.

My Own Red Shoe Love Story…

You are about to read our own red shoe love story and see how my lucky charm, my favorite pair of shoes took part in three of our happiest and loveliest moments together. Indeed, we celebrate a very happy and fulfilled life of our own…
Happy reading!

The Meaningful Yes.
On the 14th day of December, 2002, almost seven years ago, I could still remember how this man has given me the kind of trust, respect, attention, love and affection that I truly deserve. That day, after a decade of friendship and a year of courtship, we started a life together, our May-December love affair. On the same day, he handed over me one of the most unforgettable gifts he had given me, my favorite pair of shoes, something that is very rare and so beautiful.

"We fell in love, despite our differences, and once we did, something rare and beautiful was created. For me, love like that has only happened once, and that's why every minute we spent together has been seared in my memory. I'll never forget a single moment of it."

The Proposal.
"I am a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough. You are indeed the fruit of my service to HIM. You are God’s gift to me and with that I would forever be thankful.” Wow, I was so speechless. These are some of the sweetest words and most meaningful lines I’ve ever read from him, inspired by the book, The Notebook.

I was thankful I was wearing my lucky charm, my favorite pair of shoes he gave me a year ago.

"So, it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me... everyday.”

The Wedding.
"You are, and always have been, my dream.”

As I put his words and thoughts in my heart, I was overwhelmed and breathless - so happy and excited. As expected, we got married on the 16th day of December 2006 to celebrate the joys and triumphs of this lifetime commitment, to enjoy each life-long learning experience, and to continue our friendship.

I was again thankful I was wearing my luckiest charm, my favorite pair of shoes he gave me four years ago. I seldom wore this pair because I wanted to preserve it – prolonging its existence… so I could always have it a part of some very rare and special occasions like this.

Our Family.
After a year of getting married, we’re so happy we’re blessed to have our unico hijo, our bundle of joy. Baby Eieo is our little prince who gives us the joys, the fun and the fulfillment of being good and happy parents.

"There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough."

The Sudden Loss of My Favorite Pair of Shoes.

It was May 7, 2009 when a fire incident took away everything that we had – our humble home, our properties, our assets, and even our savings. The fire didn’t just take away our small beginnings but also dreams.

Though my family felt quite sad and depressed of what had happened to us, we never – not in an instance, asked God why. We were certain that HE has better plans. We are optimistic that though we were left with nothing, we can truly survive this traumatic incident and indeed pass this test of faith.

We have survived a test of faith; we are able to move on and continue to live life positively and to the fullest. This happens ALL because of HIM and HIS people.

Despite of what had happened, we are able to appreciate life, the people around us and all the blessings we have more than we used to. Despite that traumatic incident, we are able to overcome life’s struggles and challenges because of the love, inspiration, hope and strength we have inside.

Too sad, I wasn’t able to save my lucky charm, my favorite pair of shoes, and would be able to wear it again.

I hope I could still find a new pair. Well, I guess so. But the truth remains that I would never have the same pair – my lucky charm, my favorite pair of shoes.

Yes. It was my favorite pair of shoes.
He is my Man and my Inspiration.
And this is Our Love Story.

Myraine - in love, blessed, thankful and fulfilled... then, now and forever!

Happy Heart's Day to you and all!

New Home, New Hope

Yes, this is a blessing, a dream come true to hubby and me. Well, our house, a townhouse, a corner and end lot, isn’t too big – just enough for the three of us. This humble abode is perfect for a growing family who happens to be so in love with each other. Elegant, chic and minimalist, our home is indeed a labor of love and hard works.

So far, this is a living proof that we really survived the tests of faith and be able to cope with the situations as well as the consequences brought by the incidents – fire, flood and death.

I am certain that this home will be filled with love, laughter, understanding and harmony – a place where happiness, fairness, trust, respect and friendship reign at all times. Good memories will always be in the air and there will never be a room for regrets, insecurities and depressions.

It is indeed a new home, new hope for the three of us – Eieo, hubby and me.

We are to move to our new home this March. Hubby and I are so excited to start this new adventure.

We will always have HIM bless this home and always let HIM live with us.

God bless our new “home sweet home”.
