Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach Crowns as Miss Universe 2015

Miss Universe 2015 is Miss Philippines.

Every Filipino is happy and proud of Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach for being crowned as Miss Universe 2015.

Initially, Miss Universe host, Steve Harvey, mistakenly announces Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo, as this year's winner.

More from the Netizens...

Miss Universe 2015 (Miss Philippines): I had conflicting emotions when the mistake happened: joy when I was told I was indeed the winner and not first runner-up, concern for Colombia contestant Ariadna Gutierrez Aravelo, who had previously been mistakenly crowned, and confusion at the whole situation.

The video that says it all...

Congrats, Ms. Pia! Cheers!

What the 'Dumagats' Have Taught Me - I Learned Something from Them I'd Never Forget

When I joined the clergy, army, medical workers, and other volunteers in a mission to help and serve the indigenous people on Monday, December 14, I realized a lot of things about life and am sharing most of them with you...
The Dumagats make a cheerful ‘toast’ as they enjoy their glasses of milk.

1. Appreciate life. Life is always at its best - no matter how tough it may be.

2. Always be grateful. Saying thank you is NEVER hard and a challenge to them.

3. Be contented and happy with what you have. Contentment is such a big word.

4. Recognize and respect leadership. Their leader matters and so as his words and decisions.

5. Be self-less. Think of your fellows. Period.

Fr. Nap Baltazar hands over some school bags and clothes to the Dumagat children.
I also featured this experience at CBCP NewsSharing Kindness to the ‘Dumagats’ of Bulacan.

xoxo,

Mommy Mai

For donations and pledges, please feel free to message me or Fr. Nap Baltazar, the parish priest of Nuestra Señora de Lourdes Parish, and the director of the Indigenous People Apostolate in the Diocese of Malolos.

Thank you very much!

Cardinal Tagle on BEC 2015: God sent me a “teacher”.

I would like to share this story from our beloved Cardinal because it has inspired us. This may be a simple and ordinary story to some, but hubby and I think that its meaning is overwhelming.

When we were listening to Cardinal Tagle during his talk at the 3rd CBCP BEC National Assembly held on Nov. 13 at the Paco Catholic School Auditorium, we felt so blessed and happy. And we believe that most BEC delegates, observers and guests experienced the same blessing, bliss and fulfillment.

Just a few words of wisdom from him... read on and be inspired!

His Eminence Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle also shared a story of his ‘humbling encounter’ with a little girl in a slum area. He said that the child recognized him as someone who looked like the one in a poster placed on their ‘chapel’. He then decided to play along with the kid, saying it was not him. But the young girl insisted as she was sure that he was the man on the poster. He still denied, which made her ask, “Eh sino ka?”

He was moved by this experience, claiming that God has sent him a teacher, the precious little girl. He realized that the little girl goes to the ‘chapel’ often to pray, making herself familiar with the man in the poster. Despite their life’s condition, it is really amazing that she finds peace and comfort through prayers.

He called upon everyone to be like the little girl and consider praying as your personal sanctuary, where you can find serenity even in your darkest hours.

He ended his talk by reiterating the call for everyone: “Let us be the living reality in our neighborhood, in our BECs.”

Cardinal Tagle on BEC National Assembly 2015: Unity doesn’t eliminate diversity.

respond to the call of communal discipleship. (Photo: Rainier Policarpio)
Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle emphasized the essence of unity and diversity in his talk during the 3rd CBCP BEC National Assembly held on Nov. 13 at the Paco Catholic School Auditorium.

Unity is what Christians have in common but they must remember that their personal responses to God’s call nurture their communion in sacrament, service, and mission.

Since there must be shared responsibility in the life and mission of the Church, it is hoped that BECs will strengthen such participation of the lay people – making them respond both individually and as a community.

“Every Christian grows in faith within a community,” he said. “And we are all equal in Christian dignity.”

With the theme, BEC in the Philippines: Responding as a Community of Missionary Disciples to the Challenge of Pope Francis to be a Poor Church for the Poor, his talk focused on the relevance of participating in the life and spirit of the Church and committing oneself in becoming a follower of Christ.

He also discussed about the perspectives of addressing the reality, the culture and the economy of exclusion as a direct threat to communion.

“We should say no to the economy of exclusion and inequality,” he continued, encouraging everyone to practice such as also reminded by Pope Francis.

“BECs should say no to exclusion of communions,” he added. “I hope that all BECs will be examples of including the excluded, outcast ones.”

Every Christian community shall do its share in enriching personal and communal encounters. ###

Box Office: Spectre 2015 Movie Reviews [Watch Trailer Videos]

Screengrab/Twitter: James Bond
Everyone's excited about Spectre... another spy movie to watch out for!

The Verge:

Spectre is a film that is utterly devoid of surprise, rotating through a series of rote beats with almost no sense of invention.

Dares you to not to laugh on the film's more romantic scenes...

Every 007 movie ends with that title card: "James Bond will return."

Before they start work on the next installment, I hope the producers just ask themselves one question: "Why?"

See The Verge's full movie review of Spectre here.

INQUISITR -- Rotten Tomatoes is a great place to search out the truth about the good and bad of movies. With the newest of the James Bond films, Spectre, making its debut in time for the start of holiday movie-going season, Tomatoes is offering up “The James Bond Movie Countdown” as part of their “Holiday Guide 2015.”

The Tomatoes’ critics’ consensus for Spectre states, “Spectre nudges Daniel Craig’s rebooted Bond closer to the glorious, action-driven spectacle of earlier entries, although it’s admittedly reliant on established 007 formula.”

Watch Spectre's official trailer video here:

Another one to excite you more...

Spectre opens in the U.S. on November 6, 2015.

Get ready for the action, suspense and romance!

Warning: This is More Than Just a CCTV Commercial. Watch the VIDEO to Find Out Why

I encourage everyone to spend a few minutes for this post and video. This man abused the homeless guy every time he saw him sleeping in front of his shop or sitting nearby. He didn't bother or care at all -- all he wanted was to get rid of him and perhaps, never see him again.

The turning point was this:

Watch this video to know what really happened to the homeless guy and why did this commercial tear me up into pieces. And oh by the way, get yourself ready when the owner of the shop finally found out the truth through his Vizer CCTV camera. It was really heartbreaking!

Just wanna share some good vibes... please do the same, fellas! Thanks!

This Video Will Literally Bring You Into Tears -- Her Love for Her Adopted Brother is So Real and Sincere

She is so lovely. And I've come to love her more when I've realized how big and great her heart is. Listen to her as she speaks and expresses her love for her adopted brother -- treating him as her real bro.

Nothing compares to the joy that these kids bring to the family -- such a happy home.

Daughter Ace jumped the first time she met Archie and knew they'd take him home. She has never stopped jumping and loving her dear brother. True love rocks. They're so adorable.

Salute to the parents. Cheers!

Watch this video and get ready to be into pieces. Tissue, anyone?!

What This Granddad Did Has Touched Many Hearts ... He's so Sweet!

I have been very vocal and open how blessed I am in marriage. Hubby and I have been thanking the Lord for being happily married for almost 10 years. But I tell you, a decade in this marriage is no joke. We, just like any other couples out there, (of course) have ups and downs... but praise God for we always manage to keep it as we vowed to be one forever.

It takes guts, tons of patience, lots of love and faith in Him and in the marriage itself to keep the 'love' burning. And stories and videos like this would surely help us all fall in love with the same person over and over. #MayroongForever

Brace yourself. Tissues, please.

This video melts my heart and brings me to tears.

Erin Solari: My grandparents Laura and Howard have been married 73 years. In this video Howard is 92 and Laura is 93. Laura (Grandma) is at a hospice facility making peace with her final days. I was lucky enough to capture this precious, heart-melting moment between the two of them. Howard (Grandpa) is singing to her their love song, the song that comforted her when he went away to fight in World War II.

Share the good vibes on and make true love contagious! Cheers to a happy marriage!

How Did This Video of Elderly Women Change The Way I See and Live Life

Yes, I am emotional, humbled and moved.

Don't miss the video or it'd be too late for you to live a life...

Their lines made me cry a river... It hurts to see these lovely ladies teary-eyed and feel nostalgia or even regret.

If I were a young woman now... or if I'd have my time again... yes, what if?!

1. I'd like to extend those goodnight kisses ...

She teaches us to learn how to value and appreciate those little things in life -- rewarding and priceless.

2. ... those five more minutes of dancing, while my legs were still strong enough to carry me.

She says, let's enjoy the things we can still do while we still have the guts, the body, and the ability to do so.

3. What I wouldn't give for an extra second of cuddling my babies before they were too big to hold...

She reminds us to spend more time with our loved ones... never being able to miss those things that we can never get back (i.e. our kid's childhood, family moments, and those sort).

4. ... I fear that those (i.e. technologies, opportunities, etc.) would only be a world of pressure...

She warns us to be careful with the things that keep us busy or take much of our time and effort. It's gotta be really worth it.

5. I'd give myself the time to indulge in the things that I now understand... the most important.

Life is amazing... yes, even in the simplest way!

Now, watch to know these lovely women and learn more about life... such a glee and bliss!

This video made me realize lots of things:

1. To value life more...  for life has no CTRL+Z...

2. To learn to appreciate simple things in life ...

3. To slow down, pause, relax, and let go...

4. To pamper oneself and focus even on little things that will make us happy...

5. To not get pressured with 'unimportant' things...

6. To find happiness even from the smallest and least moments...
7. To not get burnt out...

Never to be that 'perfect woman' the society sets and claims I'm bound to be one.  Ugh!

8. And most of all, to be that 'being' that God wants me to be.

I tell you now, these women rock. Thanks for being an inspiration.

One real thing remains...

Let's spend more time 'BEING' not 'DOING'...

Lots of love, fellas!  Pass the good news on...

xoxo,

Mommy Mai

I Won't Give Up On Us... Even If The Skies Get Rough

I Won't Give Up
Jason Mraz

When I look into your eyes
It’s like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
There’s so much they hold.

And just like them old stars
I see that you’ve come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?

I won’t give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I’m giving you all my love
I’m still looking up.
And when you’re needing your space
To do some navigating
I’ll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find.

‘Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We’ve got a lot to learn
God knows we’re worth it
No, I won’t give up.

I don’t wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I’m here to stay and make the difference
that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use
The tools and gifts we got yeah, we got a lot at stake.

And in the end, you’re still my friend
at least we did intend
For us to work we didn’t break,
we didn’t burn
We had to learn how to bend
without the world caving in
I had to learn what I’ve got,
and what I’m not
And who I am

I won’t give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I’m giving you all my love
I’m still looking up
Still looking up.

I won’t give up on us
(no I’m not giving up)
God knows I’m tough enough
(I am tough, I am loved)
We’ve got a lot to learn
(we’re alive, we are loved)
God knows we’re worth it
(and we’re worth it)
I won’t give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I’m giving you all my love
I’m still looking up...

I Wont Give Up – Jason Mraz Lyrics

Nothing much to say... I won't give up.

This Too Shall Pass

When praying is the only thing I can do... I close my eyes and spend my happiest moments with the Lord. I know, this too shall pass. God is with me and I can bear all things through Him.

May He give me strength to overcome the pains and take away all doubts.

Capturing our hearts again... yes, over and over!

Popoy: But you’re asking for too much ... ang hinihingi mo mawala ka sa buhay ko.

###

Basha: Sana kaya ko na lang tiisin itong nararamdaman ko kasi ako ang humiling nito 'di ba? Ako yung may gusto. Sana kaya ko sabihin sa'yo na masaya ako para sa iyo, para inyo. Sana kaya ko pero hindi.

Popoy: She loved me at my worst. You had me at my best, at binalewala mo ang lahat... and you chose to break my heart.

This is it!
