Words to Every Parent...

For You and Me…

There are little eyes upon you,
and they are watching night and day;
There are little ears that quickly take
in every word you say;
There are little hands all eager to do
everything that you do.
This little child is dreaming of
the day he'll be like you.

You're the little child's idol,
You're the wisest of the wise
Well, in his little mind about you,
No suspicions ever rise;
He believes in you sincerely,
holds all you say and do;
He will say and do in your way when
he's grown up to be like you.

There's a wide-eyed little child who
believes you're always right;
And his ears are always open and he
watches day and night;
You are setting an example
everyday in all you say and do
For the little child who's waiting
to grow up to be like you.

This is a beautiful poem. I have a son that is son to be two years old and he intently watches everything that my husband and I do. In his eyes, we are great.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if it stayed that way? That was a beautiful poem and oh so true.

I enjoyed reading it. A wonderful representation of what a child feels.

Keep blogging and keep sharing!

Absolutely wonderful. Makes me smile yet makes me sad for the simple reason of how great things are in the eyes of a child; if only they could be like that for everyone.

My eyes and my heart are so full as I read these inspiring words.

In a few days my daughter will be here with my granddaughter and this prose will be posted on the fridge.

Thank you!
