Will - Some Useful Concepts


"Will" is used with promises or voluntary actions that take place in the future. "Will" can also be used to make predictions, express intentions, and denote certainty about the future. 

Basically, you use this to ask someone to do something or do an action in the future. It indicates simple future tense, which is also used with promises or voluntary actions.


It is classified as a modal, auxiliary or helping verb. 

Examples:

I promise that I will write you every single day.  (promise)

I will make dinner tonight. (voluntary action)
He thinks it will rain tomorrow. (prediction)
